Artist development in Spokane
Peculiar Friends is run by a working musician and songwriter, so development starts with the songs.
We help artists in Spokane, across Eastern Washington and beyond build the foundation for a lasting career, whether or not they're ready for full management.
What we work on
- Songwriting. Strengthening lyrics, melodies, hooks and song structure, and co-writing when it helps.
- Feedback on your music. Candid critique of your songs, demos and recordings: what's working, what isn't, and why.
- Sound and arrangement. Advice on instrumentation, arrangements and production direction so your recordings sound the way you hear them.
- Recording and releases. Which songs to record next, who to record with, and a realistic plan for putting them out.
- Identity and presentation. Photos, bio, visuals and social accounts that tell your story at a glance.
- Developing your network. Producers, songwriters, booking contacts and other people worth working with.
- Career planning. Clear goals for the next year and the steps to get there.
Who it's for
- Artists who are serious about their music and want to expand their creative voice.
- Accomplished regional artists with a following who are ready for a wider audience.
- Artists who want development on its own, without full management.
How it works
Send us your music
Use the form on our homepage to share two or three songs or videos and tell us where you're playing.
We listen and talk
We listen to everything we're sent. If it's a fit, we'll set up a conversation about where you are and where you want to go.
We build a plan together
We agree on priorities for the next year, from the live show to the next release.
We work through it
We meet regularly, adjust as things change and bring in the right people as you need them.
Questions
Do I need a manager to work with you on artist development?
No. Artist development is available on its own. Some artists start with development and move to full management later; others only need development.
Do you only work with artists from Spokane?
We're based in Spokane and work with artists across Eastern Washington and beyond. Our On Our Radar series features artists from all over the country.
What genres do you work with?
All of them. We look for strong songs, a distinct voice and artists who are serious about their careers, whatever the genre.
