What we do

A&R and artist discovery in Spokane

A&R, short for artists and repertoire, means finding talented artists early and helping them grow. It's at the heart of what we do, from Spokane to the Greater Northwest and beyond.

What we look for

  • Strong songs. Writing that holds up on first listen and gets better on the tenth.
  • A distinct voice. Artists who sound like themselves and stand out from the crowd.
  • Live ability. Performers who can hold a room and relate to an audience.
  • Work ethic and momentum. Artists who are already putting in the work and building an audience.

How we find artists

  • Live shows across Spokane and Eastern Washington.
  • Submissions from artists who send us their music.
  • Streaming and social platforms, where we follow artists across the country.
  • Our On Our Radar series, where we spotlight artists we believe in.

How we work together

We start with a conversation and build our relationship around the artist's needs, goals and priorities.

Questions

What does A&R stand for?

Artists and repertoire. In the music industry, A&R is the work of finding talented artists, helping them develop and connecting them with the right partners.

Are you a record label?

No. Peculiar Friends is an artist management group. We find and develop artists, and connect them with labels, publishers and other industry partners when they're ready.

How do I get on your radar?

Send us your music through the form on our homepage, and keep playing shows and releasing music. We listen to everything we're sent.

Do you work with artists outside Spokane?

Yes. We're based in Spokane, but we discover and feature artists from across the country.

Ready when you are

Send us two or three songs or videos and tell us where you're playing. We listen to everything.
